1.How do I use NOOK® for Web?

NOOK for Web allows you to read NOOK Books™ and samples from your web browser on your computer. You can use NOOK for Web in the following ways:

1) While browsing for books in The NOOK Book Store (www.nookbooks.com), click on the book you are interested in to bring up the Product Detail page. When you see the Read Instantly icon in the bottom right-hand corner of the book cover, simply click on the icon to start reading the book.

2) In your web browser, navigate to mynook.com and login to your NOOK account.

When you login to MyNOOK, you’ll see books all the books and samples stored in your NOOK Library running horizontally across the screen. Click the Read Now button to read a book already in your library or click the Read Sample button to read the sample that is in your library. You can also click on the book cover and NOOK for Web will open in your browser.

2. Do I need a NOOK account to use NOOK for Web?

You do not need to have a NOOK account to start reading books using NOOK for Web. However, to purchase books, read complete books, and save samples to read later, a NOOK account is required.

3. What is a NOOK account?

You can create a NOOK account by providing an email address and password on nook.com. A NOOK account including a default payment method, lets you shop for NOOK Books, Magazines and Newspapers. Having a NOOK account also allows you to synchronize your NOOK for Web library with other NOOK Applications you might have, such as NOOK reading software applications installed on your iPad®, iPod touch®, Android Tablets, PC, Mac or smartphone (iPhone® or Android phone).

Your NOOK account is ready for use once you have set up the following:

-An email address
-An approved default payment method
-A current billing address

4. Is all my content available to read on NOOK® for Web?

NOOK for Web is available for the majority of NOOK Books whose publishers permit distribution on the Web.

NOOK for Web is not currently available for magazines, newspapers, NOOK Kids™ books, and PDFs.

5. What web browsers are supported for NOOK for Web?

NOOK For Web works with the following Web browsers:

• Internet Explorer 9
• Chrome
• Firefox
• Safari

6. I am attempting to user NOOK for Web on Internet Explorer 9 but I receive a compatibility error message. What should I do?

If you have received this error message using Internet Explorer 9, make sure Compatibility View is disabled. Compatibility View is disabled when the Compatibility View button (located on the Address bar) changes from a solid color to an outline.

7. Will I be able to use NOOK for Web with my tablet or smartphone?

At this time, you will only be able to use NOOK for Web with a desktop or notebook computer that has a supported web browser.

8. Can I recommend books to my friends on social networks?

Yes. You are able to send recommendations of NOOK Books to your friends on Facebook, Twitter or to an email address. You are also able to rate and review NOOK Books on BN.com, Facebook, or Twitter and also “like” NOOK Books.

9. How do I turn a page in a book?

To turn the page forward, click on the right arrow on the edge of the browser window or the edge or the screen in full screen mode. You can also turn the page forward by scrolling down using the scroll wheel on your mouse. To turn back a page, click on the left arrow on the edge of the browser window or the edge or the screen in full screen mode. You can also turn the page forward by scrolling up using the scroll wheel on your mouse. To move quickly through a book, scroll through your book until you reach your desired location.

10. Can I make highlights, notes or annotations while reading with NOOK for Web?

At this time, highlights, notes and annotation features are not available on NOOK for Web.
